Woodcroft Sports offers summer co-ed baseball for children aged 7-8 and boys’ baseball from 9-11 and 11-14. For girls’ 9-10 and 11-14 softball please click here.
All baseball programs emphasize player development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun. Since it’s summer time all teams have enough players to allow families to take vacations without disrupting the season.
Woodcroft Sports supplies all equipment except for baseball gloves, baseball pants and footwear. Sneakers or rubber cleats are required.
Woodcroft Sports offers Baseball for boys and girls aged 7-14.
5-13 year olds: The player’s age as of April 30th will determine what age group they will play in. 14 year olds: The player’s age as of October 15th will determine what age group they will play in.
7-8 Co-Ed Baseball
The Woodcroft Sports 7-8 baseball league is a co-ed programmed geared to introducing children to baseball. Coaches pitch using a manual pitching machine and players get five pitches or three swinging strikes when batting. A safety baseball is used. Score is kept, but there is no end of season tournament for this age group.
The season will begin mid June and run through the end of July with make up games the following week if needed.
Games for the upcoming 7-8 baseball season will be played on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings with one or two games per week. A 9-game schedule is planned, weather permitting. Team practices will be at a set time on Saturday or Sunday throughout the course of the season.
9-11, 11-14 Boys Baseball
Woodcroft Sports baseball league offers programs for older children as well. In the 9-11 leagues coaches pitch using a manual pitching machine and players get five pitches or three swinging strikes when batting. A regulation baseball is used. In the 11-14 leagues kids pitch a regulation baseball. Please note that 11 year olds have the option to play in either age group.
