What is the Woodcroft Athletic Association (WAA)?
Organized in 1985 as a neighborhood sports league in Durham, NC, the Woodcroft Athletic Association (WAA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing outstanding recreational experiences in basketball, baseball, softball, t-ball and soccer for youth ages 3-16. Woodcroft Sports runs our baseball, softball, t-ball and basketball programs and the Triangle United Soccer Association manages the Triangle United at Woodcroft soccer league.
How can I volunteer as a coach?
Our coaches are all volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach or assistant coach please check the box on your child’s application.
Woodcroft Sports is overseen by a volunteer board. The boards is responsible for scheduling and team rosters, equipment, securing field space, refs and umpires, uniforms, — in short, all the workings of the league
The board is currently made up of men and women who have children playing in the league. As our children age out we need new members. The board meets 6-7 times a year on Sunday evenings at 7-8PM and there is no financial committment on your part. Current and past board members will be available to train and assist you in transition. If you would like to join the board please email us.

Do I have to live in the Woodcroft neighborhood or be a Durham resident to play?
No. Woodcroft Sports is open to all.
As soon as possible after registration for that season opens. Due to limited playing facilities, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. WAA reserves the right to refuse any application received after the registration deadline, any incomplete application, or any application received after the age group is filled—even if it is received before the deadline.
While Woodcroft Sports works very hard to accommodate all requests (and we have a terrific success rate), we cannot guarantee team, practice night, or specific coach requests. Register early!
What happens if I send in my application late?
Late applications will be assessed a $10.00 late fee and placed in the waiting list. If your child is not added to a team your money will be refunded.
What if we change our minds about playing?
Can I get a refund?
- Your registration fee will be returned if a child withdraws before practice starts.
- After practice begins for the season, a fee of $25 will be charged for administrative costs if a child withdraws from the league.
- After the first game the withdrawal fee is $50 to cover administrative and uniform costs.
- After the 2nd game of the season, no refunds will be available since it will be too late to add players. We appreciate your understanding.
