Durham’s youth recreational softball league.

 

Woodcroft Sports offers summer softball for girls aged 7-16. All softball programs emphasize player development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun. Since it’s summer time all teams have enough players to allow families to take vacations without disrupting the season.

 

Games for the upcoming season will be played on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings with one or two games per week. A 9-game schedule is planned, weather permitting. Team practices will be at a set time on Saturday or Sunday throughout the course of the season.

 

Woodcroft Sports supplies all equipment except for softball gloves, softball pants and footwear. Sneakers or rubber cleats are required.

 

AGE GROUPS

Age groupings will be as follows, depending on the number of participants: 7-9 year olds will use a safety softball and coach pitch

10-12* year olds will use a safety softball and player slow pitch.

12*-16 year olds standard softball and player “fast” pitch.

 

*Note that 12-year-olds can play either slow or fast pitch.
