Our 2022-2023 registration is now CLOSED.

The waitlist and withdrawal period have also ended.

Woodcroft Sports youth basketball programs are for girls and boys grades 2-12. Woodcroft basketball is a recreational league. Our programs emphasize player development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun.

Teams will practice one weeknight per week with a game on the weekend (Saturday for most, Sunday night for the oldest boys division). If you have a conflict on a particular night, you may note that during registration.

Players will receive a jersey and are encouraged to bring their own basketball to practice.

Our registration fees for the 2022-2023 season will be $200. We appreciate that this cost increase over previous seasons is substantial and impacts our community’s families. We do not take this increase lightly. It is necessary for the sustainability of our league, and nets our league zero profit. This season we are moving from Saturday-only schedules to weekly practices and games, and we are doing everything we can to minimize the impact of rapidly increasing gym rental fees.

If you can afford to pay a bit extra to help cover the cost of those needing financial assistance, that opportunity is available via registration and GREATLY appreciated. Our hope is that any kid in south Durham that wants to play basketball can play with us.

Woodcroft offers separate divisions for boys and girls at younger ages, then offers coed divisions in high school. This year, our age groups will be determined by school grade. If you have a strong preference towards switching divisions, contact the league, and we may be able to accommodate some requests.

Divisions for 2022-2023 are subject to change based on registration numbers. The tentative plan is as follows:

  • 2nd & 3rd Grade Girls
  • 2nd & 3rd Grade Boys
  • 4th & 5th Grade Girls
  • 4th & 5th Grade Boys
  • 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Girls
  • 6th & 7th Grade Boys
  • 8th & 9th Grade Boys
  • 10th, 11th, & 12th Grade Boys

(note that high school girls are encouraged to register and play in the “boys” coed division)
